Title: Fitting top mounts and bearings to new fk ak coilovers
Post by: reedy20vturbo on 30 March 2015, 22:23
Hello,

Does anyone know if the rubber top mount is supposed to slide on and off still after you tighten the first nut that holds the bearing down as I've watched videos of the standard struts and it looks like the mount is fixed when you tighten the nut but I've tightened the nut on my fk ak and the mount just slides on and off with ease? Thanks

If you're using the nut that FK provide then yes the top mount can slide past this. I always use the VW bush/nut that keeps the top mount secured onto the roller bearing instead

Ahh right ok mate, I do have the collard nut that came with my new top mounts but it doesn't fit the shaft as the threads are different is that the bush/nut your talking about?

I've just used the VW nut on my FK Coilovers I've just built up...

It's this one...
