Title: Service contracts main dealer.

My car is an 06 my local dealership offered me a two year contract. I was interested because another main dealer stated it was national policy by Vw to only offer contracts on cars up to eight years old! When I told them I had. A quote from the first dealer they said never heard of such a thing. They also said their bodywork warranty was for 11 years.Till I pointed to it being 12. Couldn't see any benefit in contract. I am no mechanic.

Personally, I'd opt to just go to an independent specialist or a trusted garage over main dealer. It's cheaper and a smaller garage will take care with your car as they will want to keep your custom. A main dealer won't really care as it's just another car to pass through and charge for.
