Volkswagen Golf R in Tornado Red available to come and test drive today. This is an absolutely cracking car with only 1,000 miles on the clock. What do you think of the 19in Pretoria Alloy Wheels?!

No pun intended but the word "beast"is ok to describe this one.
Very nice indeed.
-
Very nice but ouch..... £38k for a VW Golf (and I thought my GTD was too expensive really)
How long before a Golf tops £40k

Head off to the configurator and add all the toys to an R.... easy!

I paid nearly £12k less for a brand new GTI with options, Do you really get £12k worth more of car? and USED at that

I think you're already out at you have a Diesel on order!
Are you not able to twist a key? Poor fella! When I was younger you had to wind your own windows down with handles and walk around the car to move your own wing mirrors. First world problems of today eh? Now where's me pipe and slippers?
The jury is out on red for me, some days I like it and some days I don't. At least it's 'free'.

Depends on your perception of value.
To some people a Golf R is a cheap respectable runabout to go with the big 4x4 for the family and the Porsche for the weekends. To other people it's an aspirational object.
To me it's "Nearly £40k for a Golf? Jesus wept! I really should have studied harder at school..."
Still, if people didn't buy them VW wouldn't make them.

Cracking high price for a second hand car.
Next .........

Fair point Exonian i do have a GTD on order but i do like the R.
I am used to having the start/stop button on my cars for the past 8 years.
Winding windows down was great at least you could force them when they were frozen shut.

I found your reply in there somewhere! The joys of quoting using a smart phone eh?
I was just pulling your leg btw.
I drive about five vehicles in a week all of which need ignition keys and I have enough trouble trying to remember which one needs the handbrake pulled on at a junction and which one doesn't...

I really wish dealers would list the factory options separately....

4.5k less than this one, good work!
Until I started coming on here I had no idea that you could get serious discount. There must be loads of customers who don't realise this.Personally this forum has saved me 4k.
Just noticed it has black door mirrors.

The ball park figure for discpount was just over 12% on a new car when i did my reseearch last year. I had to travel 300 miles to collect but when the local dealer would not even discuss decent discounts I walked away and placed my order. Just over £24 k for a new GTI PP was well worth the trip
-
My R that is replacing my GTI comes with 2k on the clock. Has black metallic, 19" wheels, Nav Pro, leather, and winter pack for £32k......just saying £38k is a lot!

Haha, no secret to it charlie, just good broker discount. Which is why prices like this 'Cracking Tornado'
are mad for a used (albeit low miles) R!
Course if I get a pittance for my mk6 it'll be a different story

It is well worth if there's little chance of your local dealer getting anywhere near the levels of discount brokers can offer, even if you do have to travel afar to collect.
Previously I've travelled to collect (Macclesfield 200 miles), but this time, after a bit of gentle persuasion with the broker, I lucked out and only have to travel 26 miles to collect my R
