Noticed tonight that my plastic intake is broken and it needs replacing.
Any suggestions for a new one other than the OEM? I've fitted a pipercross dry filter so it would have to be ok with that.

just found this by carbonspeed. looks like it could be the way forward for me. anyone else fitted this one or know of anything better?
i know it's not going to add much apart from a bit of bling but i'm not really up for messing about going down the neuspeed induction route.

I run one of those, its a nice bit of kit but at that price you'd be better off getting either a BMC CBA carbon intake or a RamAir full cold air intake off eBay for £155.

by fitting the ram air induction kit:

is that likely to throw up any sensor problems? i've just had to fit a lambda boss extension to sort out the sports cat problem and don't really want to keep causing problems by fitting these upgrades.

To negate your exhaust issue, you'll really need a remap to cater for the changes in the cat. As for the RamAir intake, I've had no issues with warnings at all, even noticed a slight increase in MPG (my custom ECU map is designed to cater for higher airflow mind).

i've spoken with r-tech a few times about tweaking the stage 1 remap that was done prior to the sports cat being fitted, they said it would be fine as it is and that they would only look at the remap if i wanted to go to stage 2 but i don't... the other solution suggested by bcs (exhaust company) was to fit a lambda boss extension which i've had done this weekend. this would take the sensor out of the picture and stop the eml coming on... my only worry is that this sensor must be there for a reason, so by making it redundant is that going to cause any problems?!
also as a side note, r-tech said they won't even entertain doing a remap with a gfb dv+ fitted, again something which i had done after the remap.

What reason did they give for this? I've been running one for over a year now on my custom map and I've had no issues?

Nick doesn't rate them is all i was told, the latest revision stock dv is what they use and they won't touch anything with a dv+ fitted. Bit strange but I guess they have their reasons.

The reasons are that the DV+, in it's initial run, had issues with the spring and seals which caused them to significantly leak boost like a broken OEM part. GFB made a revision, also offered replacement parts to customers who bought the first revision for free.
R-Tech are quite arrogant and don't like to be proven wrong which they have on a few occasions. I'm not disputing their skills, but they've gotten too confident in their ability and think they are the top dogs and that's the end of it.
