Title: Local dealer struggling to sell cars?
Post by: charv94 on 24 March 2015, 18:08
Just had a chat with my dealer, I'm picking up on the 1st April due to insurance issues.

Anyway they want to register it a couple of days earlier, being a bit cheeky I joked, oh not met your march quota, to which the lady looked at me and said, well, not as much as we had hoped!!!

It doesn't affect me as they have thrown in the extra week tax but I just thought it was very interesting they hadn't met their targets in march, supposedly a very busy month for dealers due to the new plate launch.

Could this be due to lease offers and broker deals being so good at the moment?

Geography can come in to it - which county are you in?

Maybe in March they are expected to meet a higher target due to the new car sales so relative in comparison to the rest of the months!

I'm in the West Midlands, solihull to be exact. Without being bolshy, it's a well off area and there's always a lot of the new plates around on the day or few days after. It did surprise me a little

Wow Scotland took a beating there didnt they. And im only messing, there is this brummie at work, and he said the other day, oh I live in Solihull, and I was like oh in Birmingham, and he was like No....in Solihull.... (deathly silence...)

So as you can appreciate, I have only recently been informed of the difference lol, the tool even supports the blues so I dont quite know what his issue with the city itself was

West Mids is the home of bash for cash isn't it.

You could google 50 different surveys telling you one place was better than the other.

Haha i live with a yam yam at university and she winds me up saying I'm from Birmingham, it is also met with a deathly silence!!

Agree about being a blues supporter but disown the city. But in his defence, there's no solihull team I guess!

It seems to be unanimous and it was the same last year. The ones the papers publish anyway. I'm sure other places pop up on some places
