Title: Warning message
Post by: smorg00 on 23 March 2015, 13:01
Has anyone come across this warning before?

Proactive passenger protection, function restricted

Its been popping up on the display for the past week, nothing in the handbook though?

Active headrest or seatbelt pretensioner fault?

I had it on my Mk7 - its the seatbelt pretensioner - had to be replaced (under warranty)

The passenger one went, then a few days after it was fixed, the drivers one.

The error message could cover a load of other safety systems though - take it to the garage and have them read the data from the car - it will tell them what is wrong.

Mine was a warranty job...so no idea.

Also as I said, it could be other things covered by that message.

Unlikely to be thousands, probably a couple of hundred tho...

Ok, good idea to replace it unless you fancy eating firey death from the airbag if it triggers.
