What is it?

Do I need it?
And what's its purpose. thanks all

Its only a sump guard. It also collects oil if you dont remove it for when you drain your engine oil...
The two horizontal holes go on the gearbox/sump bolts and the vertical hole has a special part to affix the guard to the engine. I wouldn't jack up your car to refit it until you have this part or some way to refit it securely.
Very rare item as most of them have fallen off!

Thank you, Thought as such, I won't be refitting it, until I've done the engine change
