Title: Gutted doesn't even come close!
Post by: NicolaLane on 17 September 2005, 23:28: Just got back from 2 weeks away and first time we take the 16v GTI out it broke down!!Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â :cry:

apparently the clutch has gone and it managed to send bits up into the engine/gearbox and jam it up (sorry i'm not the most technical person here! :undecided:)

absolutely gutted watching it go away on the recovery truck!

has anyone else had this happen??

only thing keeping us going is that i've recently got a 8v GTI too!! which is loads fun! :wink:

Might want to investigate that more.

Post by: GTI EDITION (aka LTD) on 18 September 2005, 00:02: Are you sure it's the clutch and not the diff that's bu66ered as that's more likely/common ( happeed to mine 2 weeks ago ,cost me Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£ 550 to get it rebuilt )
