Just been to the VW garage out here in Cyprus to sort out my first service (which in itself is a nightmare - I took the service book but apparently they need the Cypriot log book to register it at the dealers  )
Anyway, I'm on the flexi plan and the car is pretty much a year old (will be exactly a year when the service is due) and I've currently done ~7500 miles.
I think I need an oil change service, which is what the service warning is saying - my main question is what else does this involve?
I get the feeling that they are trying to add little bits onto the service, especially as I only need 2 tyres and they are trying to sell me a full set of 4!
Ta in advance.

Change oil and filter.
Visual inspection of vehicle (including tyres)
Check for diagnostic faults flagging up.
Check for outstanding recall notices and apply fixes.
Try to sell you a service plan/branded car mats/bottle of spare oil/new Golf 7R.
Basically, an oil change and try to get you to spend money. However to maintain your VW warranty, it has to be done.

New tyres at 7500 miles????

New tyres at 7500 miles????
Don't know why - I don't drive it like I stole it. Could it be anything to do with the temperature? It does get to around 50C in the middle of the summer. The only other thing I can think of is how coarse the tarmac is out here?
