Title: Rear Passenger Side Knocking Sound MK5 GTI
Post by: Cdrew9989 on 19 March 2015, 14:44
Getting a slight knocking noise from the rear passenger side on my mk5, had the wheel off and looks like the backing plate on the disc is only secured with one bolt and is slightly loose. Is this likely to be the case, or is a bust wheel bearing a possibility? Any advice would be appreciated!!

Pretty sure that a loose heat shield will be causing your noise. Get it secured ASAP, a bit of metal like that wouldn't be very pretty if it fell off while doing and sort of speed.
