Title: Cheap tyres that aren't slippery in the wet (18")
Post by: monkeyhanger on 19 March 2015, 07:58
Just a heads up for anyone wanting new tyres for their Austins, Nogaros or Cadiz - the Uniroyal Rainsport 3 225/40 R18 92Y XL are fully fitted at F1 for £78 a corner right now.

Excellent tyre in the wet, pretty good in the dry, and at that price, what a bargain.

Nice!! I got them fitted to my Audi and they have been an excellent tyre; still got tread left too after nearly 15k miles. I had to nurse Eagle F1's to get near that......

If I wasn't expecting an R in 7 or 8 weeks, i'd be chopping in my Bridgestones for these (I'd prefer Michelin PS3s or PSS, but at this price it would be rude not to) - I will be barely legal on the tread by the time I hand my GTD over (1mm on the fronts and 0.5mm on the backs currently).

Isn't it 3 points on your license per tyre below 1.6mm, or are you at 1mm and 0.5mm to go until the TWIs?

Those are what I have above the markers (should've clarified).
