Post by: AndyG on 15 March 2015, 08:18
The original thread must have been deleted I can't find it.
About a week ago,I posted a photo of the R's engine bay regarding a cover in between the battery and fuse box.My photo was the same as askers.I noticed on this photo of an R there is a cover after all.

The other Tight A**e thing VW have done is remove the lower engine cover. I have sorted that one

It's the fluted part just below the main bit of engine cover. I had it fitted to my GTI but noticed it was no longer fitted when I went over to look over my R.
Part No: V06K 103 925 AA  around £25 if anyone is interested

It's just the security plate for the ECU, I've seen plenty with and without it. Maybe they've given up bothering with it now that all the ECUs are port flashable and don't need to be removed to be tinkered with.

Is that direct from a VW dealer? If I use that part number that is?

Yes, just pop in or ring your main dealer parts dept and quote the part number to get the latest price. If it's in stock at the main warehouse your dealer should get it the next working day.
