OK so heres the deal,
Swapped stereo and Keyfob stopped, so thought Fuse, but can't find one blown, then thought key had lost synchronization. but seems not
using VCDS - i ran a measure on the central Conv, checked how many keys i had, 1 as i thought.
then used an old vagcom and did a new key mapping and the car made a beep when I pressed the button.
which tells me the car picked up the key and acknowledged it.
so then back into vcds - back into measure, found the measurment set that shows which button I am pressing on the keyfob,
and sure enough i can see position 1 and 2 changing when i press buttons on the key
so that says to me
Key fob is fine,
Sensor is fine
so why wont it lock / unlock the car? what can i look for next?

i assume its an aftermarket stereo and you've used an iso adapter. if so the kline is your issue.. its too early on a sunday for me to be technical  so have a look here http://uk-mkivs.net/topic/11361-how-to-upgrade-the-stereo-in-mk4-golfsboras/

Cheers just before the questions come,
Yes its aftermarket
yes i have an ISO adapter on there ..
Ill check the cabling as it is not SWITCHED power which is pissing me off anyway ;)

Ok so my thinking,
if the stereo is disconnected, so if the kline was not being interrupted or connected, shouldnt the locking spring back into life?
as it does not?
noted somone was a dick though and cut behind the original connector, looks like one of the lives has been disconected but i cant see why.

try changing the iso lead for the radio as that was my problem
-
Yeah but surely with the stereo disconnected then it should start working if the stereo is causing the issue?
-
OK So i've checked with VAGcom and the key re-syncs fine,
I have disconnected the Car Battery for 10 minutes to give it a bit of a reboot,
removed stereo had it sat completely disconnected and still nothing?
Checked all the fuses that i can see are relevant nothing blown
i'm pulling my hair out on this? can anyone think of a series of things to check / try that i have failed to see so far?
