Car has arrived and is at the dealership ready for collection april, went in today to sort my plate and just handover dates etc, I was just wondering is the key supposed to have any gti's logos on it?
the business manager's GTI had logo on the key, but mine didn't??
he seemed to also think that the reason might be keyless? and that nothing could really be done now because these are the keys?
is he correct?

You are correct...your key fobs should have the "GTI" on the bottom of them.....the dealer hasnt changed them over for you as I got the normal blanks aswell. Keyless or not you should get them.

Ok right, so if they aren't changed on handover day ill make sure they do change them

Same here, keyless with Gti Logo, the Logo's were in the glove box of my car the saleman showed me when i was in the week before i picked my up.

Seems amazing to still be having things posted about missing key parts almost 2 years down the line!

Mine are still in the glovebox. Never got round to changing them over although surely the dealer should have done this

As others have said, you should have the silver chrome bit at the bottom with GTI on it - if you haven't, make sure they get some for you - and you'll have to get them to fit them as they need some special screwdriver to do it (unless you're a Tim the Toolman Taylor and you have specialist screwdrivers like that in your garage!)
-
it should be part of the dealers checklist I would have thought!
-
All you need is a small torx driver to swap them over. I managed it and I'm utterly useless!

A T6 is needed. If you're not getting these with the car then someone at the dealership is pocketing them. They should be fitted as part of your PDI.

I Dont have them either was told they were on back order when I got the car.
Will have to get them to organise some.

How can they be on back order when they come with the car! Someone has helped themselves at the dealer and fobbed you off with the back order excuse.
