So I have a pair of good condition oem LHD headlight and a pair of RHD headlights which have broken reflector holders If I convert the RHD lenses to the LHD ones will the beam pattern be correct or do the reflectors inside also have something to do with the beam pattern?
Thanks

As far as i know being from a LHD country it's the glass that are different, so i see no problem =)

Ok thanks will go ahead with the conversion one last question anyone know were to buy reflector holder plastic clips?

Can't buy them individually, use the ones from LHD headlight.
If you need the longer one I have one around somewhere I no longer need.

Im not cutting into the wires! I bought a full set of osram night breakers will post back and let you know if they make a difference.

No need to cut into any wires, you can make a loom to fit between headlight and original loom.

This^^^^
You buy all the bits and plug it all in without cutting any of the original loom.

How is it done can you elaborate?

These guys sell kits which are plug and play.

This is the basic electronic diagram, works for most cars.

This gives you an idea of how to make a loom up with plugs, this is a Mk2 one...
You can get all the bits from a scrapper for the headlamp connectors, possibly still from VW

Nevermind found one on ebay germany will buy it and modify and keep mine as a spare if the new bulbs dont make a difference when they arrive tommorow
-
Just a follow up the night breakers did not make a big difference but it's acceptable as it is so just going to keep everything original
-
What is it with UK and Nightbreaker? :P Everytime on Facebook somone asks for better headlight bulbs everyone screams "NIGHTBREAKER".
I used to use nightbreaker aswell. m,ainly because there wasn't anything else around that was good. However i tried these: http://www.powerbulbs.com/eu/product/philips-xtreme-vision-130-h1-twin
So i use Nightbreaker in my MK3 Variant and the Philips in my GTI. The difference is, Philips gives a more "daylight" light. More natural white.
Just wanted to say, there is other lightbulbs then Nightbreaker ;)
