Post by: hastd2 on 05 March 2015, 12:22
Guys am looking for your help again, I cant seem to mind on how you track the where abouts of the car once it leaves the factory...any of you wise fellow willing to help me out.
This is my second Gti, due to a replacement from Vw as my currant Gti PP has had problems from the 2nd week I had it, the problem has been ongoing for a whole year, and now VW have come to an agreement to exchange my Gti PP.

Cheers
Doug

Just contact your supplying dealer and ask for the tracking reference number. He will have it.
Go to "VW track my car" and enter the number.

You should get the VIN number from the dealer(I can't remember if it's on the tracking site) then got to the shipping companies site - I think its http://www.2wglobal.com then got to the track and trace page and put your VIN number in under Cargo ID and it should tell you where it is and what ship it's on. From there you go to http://www.marine-traffic.com/ to check where the boat is.

Some of this might have changed as I tracked my car a year ago and my car was coming to South Africa.

The tracker has different stages which basically relate to when its left the factory, when its on the boat, when its arrived at the dealer.
