We just HAVE to share this Golf GTD with you.
Only 15 miles on the clock, 18 inch Nogaro Alloy Wheels and in Pure White, this car is a beast!
Come to Wrexham Volkswagen for a test drive today! http://www.wrexhamvw.co.uk/vehicle/volkswagen/golf-gti_gtd_r-mk7-hatchback-5-dr/41085?tab=vehicle-specification-tab (http://www.wrexhamvw.co.uk/vehicle/volkswagen/golf-gti_gtd_r-mk7-hatchback-5-dr/41085?tab=vehicle-specification-tab)

Youl'll have to offer more discount than the £23890 your asking, you can have a brand new one at orangewheels for £23773.
Must try harder!

So what you're telling everyone then, is you can pay a privilege of £117 for this one instead of waiting for one to be built...
-
I suppose I am yes.
-
Does this make mine an even bigger beast as it has bigger sat nav, rear camera, dcc and park assist. Isnt the advertised one just a bog standard one?
-
Sort of shows that no previous time or research has been spent on this forum and it was just seen as another potential place to get a sale.
Unfortunately this is probably the most informed group of people there is on the subject and all thats been achieved and particuarly with the word 'beast' being used (might be seen as a beast in school playground) as some kind of tempter is VW Wrexham losing some credibility with regards its knowledge of cars selling and how see their customers potential and existing.
Suggest that if going to post here as a dealer and look for serious responses then be serious in description and in price.
-
It looks like it's been pre registered to meet a sales target to me.So some sales guy I mean executive as they like to be known, gets a bonus and someone else pays top dollar.
-
also means that by being 'Used' it will fall under a higher rate APR on the finance,

+1
My first thought was, er? what makes it a "BEAST"? Did make me laugh though
-
Someone coming from a 1.6TDI SE Golf might think it's a beast, but no-one already in one or a GTI/R is going to think that way, and most people already here that don't have one already but want one will have one on order.
I did see a beast today with a devilish numberplate - Nissan GTR "K666KEV" in Gosforth, Newcastle. No Renault influences on that Nissan!

Yes, preaching to the converted on a gti/gtd forum
Seen quite a few Nissan GTRs lately, they're becoming a common sight round here. I'd still have one though  R's however, are a much rarer sight.

I think we need to cut Messrs Wrexham VW a bit of slack here as it's only a bit of sales banter from the description and they are sponsors after all.
Which leads me into saying that as above - maybe a little bit more interaction on the forum in ways that won't get you shot down in flames would be welcomed, you did set yourselves up for a bit of a fall there even if the description was very tongue in cheek.
In forum speak - if it doesn't have 500bhp then it ain't a BEAST! We're a hard bunch to please.
As for the new broker price versus the slightly discounted pre-reg'd GTD you're offering there, perhaps people forget that brokers generally offer low to zero part ex prices so if someone doesn't want a potential long wait for a basic spec GTD then there's always the chance that Wrexham might offer you a very attractive part ex package which will swing the figures back in their favour. You don't know unless you ask!
And now I'm going to give myself a huge pat on the back for resisting saying Rectum VW anywhere in my post
-
The GTD is hardly a beast unless you're scope is or has been fairly limited. It is, by modern standards, a "warm hatch", quite a good one, but face it, it is a warm hatch.
The GTI and R a fine "hot hatches" but most would not consider them to be beasts either...
It did make me chuckle, though...
-
This topic should be in the "cars for sale" section anyway.
-
I would say the gti and gtd are both warm hatches but they are also excellent all round cars.
-
Seeing as it's new reg day on Sunday, unless the new owner puts a private plate on it, it's going to look like a second hand car too. Being a 64 plate will surely have an effect come trade in time as well.
-
At least the tail pipes are clean this time.
Maybe Wrexham will be willing to negotiate a discount as its on Bridgestones :lipsrsealed:
-
Somewhat harsh comments chaps. Wrexham VW are a forum sponsor - although l agree the ad wording was less than inspired its not a bad offer. If its within 100 quid or so of a broker price but without the four month wait that will appeal to some.
The car is registered on a 64 plate and the full registration is shown in their link.
-
Fair enough they are a sponsor, but they might have been wiser targeting forum members who don't already have a mk7 GTI/GTD/R. And it's not that difficult to do a bit of homework on your target audience.
-
It's a beast :evil:First they have posted it in the wrong section second it's not titled correctly it isn't and will never be a beast all though I do agree with the description of missing the wait for one and the price isn't that bad either.
-
I think this is clever marketing
Lots of posts keeping it at the top of the pile  Beastly
-
For those that say it's in the wrong section - how many people in the market for a new MK7 go anywhere on this forum other than the MK7 section?
Those that visit the for sale section are generally looking for second hand private sales and those that visit the sponsors section generally already have a car and are looking for 'extras'.
And after all, Wrexham do sponsor this section and it's nice to have dealers on board.
If it had nav, S&S, park assist and RVC even I might have pricked my ears up! Briefly...
-
Might as well remove the mk7 from the classified cars for sale if nobody reads it.
Ps I am selling a set of winter wheels if anybody interested. They are on the classified but hey ho.

Are they in the mk7 section of the classifieds or the wheels and tyres section?
And yes, I get your point and would be cross if people posted up for sale threads all over the mk7 section but Wrexham aren't the first dealership to do this and maybe it should be posted up twice (once in the proper forum section) or they get their own sticky in the section they pay for.
Who knows but it's done the trick here as there's a lot of traffic on this thread and escaped the mk7 and SUV section moderator's purge last night...
-
Fair enough.
-
Perhaps a little more forum interaction from them would help matters for them. Lee would join in and built a very good reputation as the salesman to go to.
-
Anyone can advertise a car for sale in the for sale section and often a lot of people only register on the forum to do so, Wrexham VW have paid to be a forum sponsor which allows them certain privileges, if they post the odd car for sale now and again even if it sparks a little controversy then thats fine by me, if it gets a bit out of hand then it'll get sorted.
It would be nice if they offered a little more interaction but give them a chance, i'm sure they will take a bit from this thread.
On a side note appologies i haven't been pulling my weight just lately guys, had a bit goin on so only popping on now and again but will be about more going forward. :afro:
