Quick question that I haven't see answered elsewhere
In my previous Volkswagen CC (RNS-310 sat nav), activating Siri on an iPhone whilst the phone was connected via Bluetooth allowed you to speak & hear Siri commands via the audio system, playing out of the speakers
Doing the same on my GTD & Discover Pro doesn't let it connect to the audio system
Has anyone got Siri working in this way with the Discover/Discover Pro head units?

I've got the Discovery Nav, rather than Nav Pro but when I had my iPhone 4S, if I pressed and held the home button on the phone to invoke Siri the voice control all worked through the car bluetooth. I didn't have to do much to set it up - as long as the stereo was set up to handle both call audio & music audio, the Siri commands would just interrupt whatever was playing on the stereo at the time.
One thing that might be different is that I don't have voice control, whereas the Nav Pro does - maybe this is getting in the way of the voice activation of Siri ?
Annoyingly, since I changed my phone to an Android one, I can't get the voice control for Google Now to work in the same way as Siri did with my iPhone.

I don't have either satnav option but I can interact with Siri via the hands free mic/speakers provided you can activate it in the first place - unfortunately none of the steering wheel buttons can do it. If you've turned on the feature where Siri is constantly listening while plugged in to power then you can activate siri by saying 'Hey Siri' and this does work in the golf provided you're not currently playing music from the phone at the time.
If you try and do it while music is playing then Siri still activates but seems to give up listening pretty much instantly and it doesn't work.

I have tried various permutations, but nothing seems to work. I can get the 'Hey Siri' to function on the phone itself, but as soon as it's plugged into the USB socket of the car, then nothing
I'll see if I can find another iPhone running iOS 7 to see what happens - mine is iOS 8.1.3

No further luck - tried it with a colleagues iPhone as well
Siri works fine on the A6 Avant we have, so would seem to be a quirk of the VW headunit

Iphone 6 running ios8 + discover satnav = works just fine for me

Will need to 'borrow' my brother iPhone 6 to see
It's weird though - I can stream songs from the iPhone 5S to the headunit with Bluetooth, audio commands from the like of Google Maps and Apple Maps play over the headunit nterrupting the radio/SD card as required - just Siri that wants to be obstinate
