Just a random thought, do you wave to other GTI Drivers?
I've noticed that some drivers do and some don't. Is there a written rule that you only wave to the mark you are driving or just don't at all.
I know that Mini owners do and VW Transporter (campers) do as well, and Bug owners.
Any light that people can shed on this would be grateful so i don't look stupid either waving at someone or not waving at them.

I do if one looks extremely clean, modified etc, be a bit odd waving to random old people that are just going about their daily business. I tend to flash rather than wave as my arm aches from waving when out in the camper

I'm now an Audi driver so I do my best to get in front and become an obstruction.

This cheered up my morning.
Anyway, there are too many surely! Your hand would be constantly up! I give a cheapeky flash to mk2s which are really clean and clearly not just beaten into the ground though :)

Oh dear, I used to be one of those! haha. either in front or trying to get past with the minimum space required.
So just looked after ones it seems to be, how many of you have the stickers i guess that would be another way to wave or flash as well.

I do if the lady driving is hot

one fingered wave maybe
I do flash/wave if its a middle aged man reliving the 80's in a nice example, if its a chav I race him them brake test him once i'm in front
-
There's no waving around this way
-
Bit hard with 6 webbed fingers eh?
-
Mk1 & 2 maybe, as it's more likely enthusiasts that own the so "get it". Anything else is just driven by randoms who would just give you an odd look. Corrado drivers that I've seen about whilst driving mine ALWAYS wave or flash. Although tbf, it's only been a handful I've seen in my 3 years of Corrado ownership.
-
I do when driving my MK2 & get waves back, but it's only from older cars, but right across the range...
MK1 & MK2 Golfs, Corrado, Scirroco, Camper Van, Beetle...
I don't get any waves in my MK7 Golf

Ah... but just think... if you had a BMW you could tailgate, intimidate, drift between lanes without indicating.... and still get in front and become an obstruction

Wouldn't think drivers of newer models would wave to each other much given they are a bit more common. As previously mentioned, Mk1 and Mk2 owners will likely be a bit more 'enthusiast' and wave.
-
The ED30 nod...nothing more, nothing less.
-
Thats cleared that up, but I'm guessing if you see a car with forum stickers, or show stickers you would as they are more likely to know whats going on...
-
when it comes to mk2 golfs I can safely say a big yes. every mk2 golf I have passed in the last 3 years has waved or flashed the lights. even the odd mk1 cabby that thinks its a mk2

when I used to have my mk2 there would be a chap in a mk4 r32 drive past everyday and give a flash or a wave, then went onto a vr6 and he waved then, now have the audi and he waves like I'm his best friend still, I don't get it driving my Mrs 9r polo though :undecided:

I have found some people do wave more now, Had a Mk5 GTI wave at me the other day and was taken aback, so much so i looked like a fool almost waving at the car behind him... Think I got away with it though.
