hi there my car is in for its mot this morning and the seat belt chime seat sensor is buggered it constantly chimes I got over this buy simply disconnect the sensor under the seat ,,should I reconnect it for the mot or leave it disconnected ,,,,,,,,,, will this fail the mot
-
Get it coded out. Find someone with VAGCOM / VCDS

thanks for getting back to me reguarding getting it coded out but does it not need to work for the mot testcheers
-
Nope
How can you test something that isn't there
-
well said ,,the car passed so ive disconnected the sensor doing my head in lol cheers again

unless it's driver's seat it's better to reconnect and get fault fixed (pretty sure it uses it for passenger detection - airbag deployment) and just get it coded out. I disabled it on my mk7 with VCDS, can be done on mk5 too.
