Title: mk5 gti pre cat removal

hi guys newbie here.
curently looking into remapping the gti. i heard the gti had to cats on the exhaust system and was told to remove the pre cat and i will achieve better figures on a remap.
is this true?
how easy is it to remove the pre cat and would any custom exhaust place be able to renove and put a pipe in its place.

any decent custom exhaust place will do it easy  :wink: then take it to r-tech for some of there magic
