Hi guys, wonder if you could give any advice about my problem here please..?
When trying to replace spark plugs I noticed I couldn't remove plugs 2 & 6 due to what looks like broken off plastic collars from old HT leads surrounding the plug way down in it's bore & preventing the plug wrench to make contact..
Tried extra long nose surgical forceps to break bits of the plastic from round the plug but I can't pull it free & back up the bore!
Worried that worse case will mean head off, drill out offending plugs, clear plug bores & refit with new gaskets, bolts etc..?
Or I persevere trying to remove little bits of the offending black/rubbery plastic rings, blow out with airline & try to get the plugs out..?
V.grateful for any help on this, car needed for work!
Cheers

Sorted myself..
I broke bits of these offending plastic collars from round the outside of my 2 spark plugs using a long thin screwdriver & extra long forceps to remove bits & blew the crap out with an airline.. then drove a plug socket over the plugs with a rubber mallet, enough just to unscrew them with the remains of the plastic ring around the outside which you can clearly see it's from the inside of a knackered old HT lead/plug cap that broke off with a former keeper.. Obviously been like that for years as the 2 plugs were mullered on inspection!
After a final high pressured blow out of the plug wells, I fitted the last 2 new NGK Iridium plugs with a new set of ignition leads…
And Vrooom!
Perfect.. only thing is the engine warning light is on the dash & won't go out.. can I reset this myself or need a garage to do it?

buy a cheap code reader if your keeping the car  that will turn it off and save you a few quid
