Title: "That's a mk3 mate"
Post by: Waspy on 15 February 2015, 12:31
Sat in Kwik-Fit (I know I know, but they open on a Sunday) to have my alignment done. Lad comes in and double checks its a mk2. Then the manager pipes up telling me I'm wrong and that's its a mk3. I nearly hit him. Then proceeded to give him a history of the golf and the changes between each variant.

Yep.

I was desperate as the alignment was WAY out and ruining my tyres. Foolishly thought how hard can it be, the machine does most of the work. It amazes me they are still in business.

If it was way out they would of adjusted it. It's only when it's narrowly out then they pretend. It's called a 'dingy tracking' when I worked there many years ago. Wire brush and copper grease and your good to go.

It was out by a long way. They would have done well to fix it with a wire bush

Had my tracking done at a local place last week (independent not KF) and so many comments about it.

Tracking was 19 degrees out and unsurprisingly now drives like a dream!
