Title: Has anyone fitted an LSD to their GTI?
Post by: MartinrobGTi on 14 February 2015, 08:47
As above guys, has anyone on here fitted an afternarket limited slip diff on their Gti? Quaife, wavetrac etc. As i really do fancy fitting one, as i'm planning on keeping the car for a while, so wanted to get the best out of it, as i really cba with the amount of wheelspin etc after remapping and not being able to use all the power off the line. And defo dont want to downgrade in bhp , has anyone had it done, and is it worth it? You can get one for around the £600 mark.
Cheers.

I've driven a MK5 with a quaife was worth it Imo. Driven quite a few alfa with there optional mechanical Q2  different in too its only about £90 and similar to the quaife makes a huge difference to them especially the 147 GTA

Exactly what i was thinking mate, well i'll be buying the diff off them, but its too far for me to travel to get it fitted there, will be taking it to my local vag mechanic. But that's where i've seen the quaife diff from. Really do think it would turn the gti's into abit of a monster if we could use all the power!

Yes I have one on mine... Well worth it for the Track and if you push the car hard then brilliant for the road especially in the wet :)
