Title: comfort closure problem

anyone know how the system works?
 all the windows close when the key is held back when locking, apart from the drivers rear. the window itself moves freely and works perfectly apart from this.

 alot of the cable in the door had been chewed up by the guide hinge thing but are all solder back together now.
anyone have any ideas?

Soldered? There??
That is the one spot in the car where I would NEVER solder, the connection is solid however because it is so rigid it will soon break due to movement when door gets opened and closed. Better to open door and dash trim up and put in a 30cm long wire instead of the broken one and fix it up to existing wiring in car and door with crimp connectors.

I strongly suspect that you have another faulty wire somewhere. Possibly the one leading to rear door that is not working.

the wires that were broken are actually in the door going to the motor, some one had pulled all the tape off them before and they were all loose and all over the place. put them back together and taped them all back together if you get me.

does the comfort closure have a control unit or anything like that?

So are you saying that when you lock the car and hold the key in the locking position for a while that all the windows close apart from the drivers side rear one and that the drivers side rear one works as it should from the switch on that door AND from the switch on the dash as well ?.

i can't give you a definitive solution but if it were me i would remove the lower right hand panel completely, not just the fusebox cover,and wiggle the wires and connectors about,maybe pull them apart one at a time and refit them.It sounds like it is down to a poor connection.As nearly all the electrical stuff for the car is behind that panel you might get lucky.
