Title: MK2 Golf gti
Post by: sychosis on 29 January 2015, 12:57
Hi all

So after trawling google for 2 days, I'm now resorting to ask the question.

I have recently bought a mk2 gti, a po has at some stage installed electric windows, making their own loom , which only the driver window worked, this is no longer the case as I may have buggered it up :embarrassed:

Does anyone here have a diagram or photos of the back of the switches and what wires I am looking for to repair them.

Many thanks

Lee

No pics but I do know the wires at the back. If I can remember rightly there are 5 wires. A blue for a direction switch, a red live, a brown earth, a second red live which takes a jump feed off the first red and then black as the second direction switch. It runs as two separate switches in reality. One circuit for up and one circuit for down.

Hi

Thanks very much for the info but looking at the switches they have 6 pins. Some of them are linked together with jump feeds like you say, and there are various colours. I think I better get the multimeter out this weekend

Cheers

Do you want to put up a pic of your switches. I have some spares up stairs that I can go have a look at to count the pins. Might be a ce1 ce2 difference. If remember my other switches being different.
