weird problem here I need some help with:-
I was out on Sunday and driving along my interior light came on about my head. I thought 'oh that's weird must have a door ajar' so I pulled over checked all doors and even slammed them all shut to make sure.
got back into car and the light was still on so I turned it to the off position and thought nothing of it. Got home and after about 30 minutes my car alarm went off, so went and checked it all again, slammed all doors again and went back into the house. long story short this went on for about 3 hours and I decided to leave the negative off the battery so it wasn't going off at random hours in the night. connected it all up the next morning and the same thing so did a bit of research and removed a fuse from the board, it was the one that controls the lights and electric windows and am locking the car with the key, central locking still works and the alarm obviously isn't setting using the key so its not randomly going off...
any ideas what the culprit could be?

Mine did it when I first got it.
I ended up unplugging one of the rear interior sensors and it sorted it.
Are all your door modules all working properly? Do the puddle lights ever work/not work when they are not meant to?

The door modules seem fine. No they come on as and when they should

vagcom measuring blocks will tell you which door the ccm thinks is open when they're all shut.. without vagcom either check which puddle light stays on (open the door and click the latch shut with a screwdriver) or sometimes when sitting in the car if you press the central locking button on the drivers door the faulty lock will pop shut then back open again.. doesn't always show up like that though!

I put the fuse back in and all seems good now, I'm wondering if there is an issue with the boot lid and water, I'll strip it down and have a gander
