Title: Fully open boot mod
Post by: benmanc on 26 January 2015, 11:48
I am half way through my smooth boot mod and I have it fitted with button etc and getting it to pop open with furl flap solenoid and rocco bump stops...

I just need to get new boot struts and/or springs to help push it fully open.

Anybody point me in the right direction or have a link?

I have searched for ages and can't find anything at all

What happens if you park near trees / in a garage with low roof.....

Last thing you want is the boot fully opening

Get a Beetle boot latch to help it pop open enough to get your hand underneath the boot

The spring loaded bump stops I have pop it open with a 'push'. Even without them I can get my hand under fine.

And I wont part near a tree or a garage

Not paying £150 for a few springs haha - might just leave it as it is now

yours is how mine was, rocco bump stops.

did the job, don't see why you would want it to fully open.

however, I believe Vauxhall insignias have fully opening boots but its via a motor, if I was going to make it fully open id try mod the system from that to fit, then its a button press to open and a button press to close.
