What are the best mods to do on an estate. It's a 1.6 16V.

How long is a piece of string?
Not a great deal of things you can do the engine, unless you just swap it out.
Plenty of exterior/interior mods you can could do, take a browse on the site.

First things first got some pressed plates then gonna be on the look out for some alloys.

A good and sensible start!...Which reminds me I need to get some pressed plates

I think a Bora front looks really good on an Estate. If fact, in Europe and probably other places a well, they got Bora Estates.

You can do pretty much everything you can do to a hatchback. I loved mine!

As with any car, wheels and suspension will transform its appearance.
-
Topher - what suspension were you running on your wagon?
-
they were weitec coilovers, hicon GTX if I remember right.
-
I had Weitec on my mk3 16v, not bad at all. I've just fitted a set of Koni STR.T shocks and springs on my estate, albeit hatchback ones and I'm pretty disappointed if I'm honest.
The spring rates are clearly way off the mark and it now undetsteers easier than stock set up and scrapes every bloody speed bump with anyone on board....sits well though. Ha
