Title: The convenience pack isn't convenient
Post by: Carbon Goodies on 21 January 2015, 21:35
Well I'm not sure if many of you are aware but there is a function on the convenience pack which allows you to open all of your windows if you hold the unlock button on the remote.

When would anybody ever want to use this function?

Anyway all of that aside, I came to my car today to find all of the windows halfway down and an inch of snow in my car.

Thanks VW, what a great idea!!!

I can undertstand the window up funtion, but if you are putting the windows down you are obviously going to be with the car already.

Either way I hate it LOL!!!

I use it all the time in the summer, you can turn that function off via vagcom though so that it will only do roll up :)

It's handy to open all windows before entering the car in summer to let the heat out a bit before getting hit in the face with it as you enter the car.

On a side note, the windows opening automatically may indicate your key fob is dying, it can send out a false signal when it's loosing the will to live so may be worth looking at replacing it.

If you leave your keys in sight of the car it may keep doing it, suggest you put them somewhere else for now. Might be wrong but I've seen it a few times before.

a faulty convenience module can cause this to happen... assuming you didn't sit on your keys

Happened to me a few times when sitting on my keys. The doors will automatically re-lock but the windows stay down. As above, you can turn this function off.

Thanks guys, it was no doubt me sitting on my keys which caused it.

I am going to visit Autohaus Dolby and have the fuction turned off soon.
