Title: I am buying a Mk 5

hey guys some info please!

Excuse my ignorance as I know very little about this marque!

First is there a cambelt? Or is it chain driven???
Car I am intending to buy is a 05 plate Gti 6 speed 5 door.

Also where is the VIN plate??

The Mk5 has a cambelt.  Should be changed every 4 years or I think every 60k miles, whichever comes first.

VIN number is visible through the bottom of the windscreen, VIN plate will be under the bonnet I think, not actually looked for mine!

Also check to see if the car is due any recalls, only one I'm aware of is for coil packs.
