Title: My On going saga.....Looking for some advice
Post by: hastd2 on 14 January 2015, 10:40
Not to say am just fuming, 6 errors came up on the touch screen this morning!!!......So the garage go a call straight away, and a few choice words were exchanged!!!!
I told them that this was the final straw, and was their last chance to get the car fixed because am going to ask to get some answers from higher up the tree. Mr hastie we would feel the same if it was our car!!.....well do something about it then.
Give them their due a brand new Touran SE 2.0Tdi was on the drive with in 30mins. So the back of lunch time i gt a call to say we have had a report back from VW UK and they want us to go ahead and swap out the steering rack...FFS, is that not what they wanted to do a few months ago and changed their minds!!!
The surprise is that there's not one in UK so guess what, it will be a week or so before we see one from Germany....
Am loosing it now, and feel like I want rid of the car as for one VW UK dont know what they are doing and the VW garage are fed up seeing the it back at the garage, and they are only going by what VW UK tell them...

Guys have you any ideas on what route i should take??

A very annoyed Gti owner

You're kind of stuck in many ways.
You've got to stay onside with the dealer as they can only do what VW will allow them to if they want to get paid.
VW have a set of procedures they have to stick to and probably follow guidelines straight from Wolfsburg.

So keep it friendly with the dealer if they're doing all they can.
Speak to VW customer services and make a fuss there, they might get a head office techie to come and look at the car as there's clearly a big problem which might actually be quite a simple fix in the end.
Be clear with VWCS that the dealer have been very accommodating but make it very clear that you're not happy with the car and problems therein.
Do VW have a twitter account if you use twitter? There's nowt VW will want more than to stop you posting up negative stuff on there.

If it was me I'd have long lost the will to keep the car but unless you have grounds to reject the thing it's going to cost you an arm and a leg in depreciation at such a young age of car.

I would tell VW to sort the car out within 2 weeks or they should give you a new one. If you have legal cover go see a solicitor. Replacing the steering rack .... half the car comes apart.

I would have lost the plot by now.
OP: Your patience is highly commendable.
I wish we had an effective Lemon Law as the have in the USA. They reject cars at the drop of a hat.
