Title: fuel leak...and its not the first!
Post by: rallypug on 10 January 2015, 15:39
Just discovered a fuel leak on the fuel pressure regulator (under bonnet, right hand side of cylinder head) on my gti (mk7, 20,000 miles) . Already had a fuel tank access hatch leak..(12,000 miles)... Just wondering if anyone else has had the same ??

Not happy !

Have a look on the international mk7 forum as there seems to be a problem and a VW recall with a fuel leak on US cars. You might be experiencing the same issue as well.

I had a fuel leak at that regulator.. this was replaced and then started a whole load of issues with the car eventually being rejected after the HPFP failed sticking injectors open with metal shavings (so I am told!but don't believe!)

Thanks for the info...update from the dealers...it wasn't the regulator but the high pressure fuel pump,  this is going to be replaced... I wait to see the consequences of it's failure !
