Title: Restricted accelaration
Post by: SHAKSTER on 22 October 2003, 10:34
mk2 8v.

When i accelerate it feels as if something is holding the car back, When the car is in neutral, the engines revs fine but when driven it feels as the power is not bcoming out.

I suspect it could be my exhaust although i can't really hear it leaking. I've just changed the whole system apart from downpipes.

Any ideas.

Ive changed spark plugs, timing belt correctly etc...

Thanks

do you have wide feet?

maybe you're pressing the brake and the accelarator at the same time?

Now I can give you some expert advice on this one. Check your golfball knob end's on straight. Sounds like it could be 180 degrees out so forward gears will be reverse - so you'll be going backwards. Twist it round.  ;)Simple.

The airflow meter is just in front of the airbox.
