I've lost chip in the key.
-
Only place for chip and key
-
Ouch.

Are you saying you have the key, but the chip is gone???
if so (iirc) you just need to source a used chip of the same type & code it in
An alternative to VW, I dont know how good quality they are, but you could try here:

The chip came out of the key and I could find it.
Vw £32 for the key and £51 to recode it and I would have to get the car to them.
I found a company the deletes the immobiliser off the ecu for £40.
Just need to give them the ecu.

Don't tell you insurance....

Might be cheaper to buy a used ecu with reader and key or lockset off ebay etc.

51£ to code a key?? Are they mental???
Buy a chip off ebay and simply get it coded. If you have login code then anyone with VCDS can do it.
Ask different VW dealer for quote to recode keys and just put a suitable chip from ebay in the key first.
Removing immobiliser is really not necessary.

Will cost you £50 for new key recoded at dealer...all inclusive...at least the dealer in Camberley charged me that...I lost my key in my flat. . but only found it after I got the new one made.....:(....
I'd spend the extra 10 and get the dealer to do it...and yea someone will have to tow your car there,...:)
