As title really
Really thinking about some winter wheels. Official VW 16" look sh1te so thinking of 18" or fail that no smaller than 17". At the end of the day I still want the car to look reasonably good
Could you please provide pics if possible of what you are currently using ?

I have gone for 18" wheels and Nokian tyres, as 95% of the time I done have to deal with snow, just low temperatures and wet roads.
Had no trouble when it did snow getting out of our side road, slight slope and a left turn at the top.

Thanks Mustard
Sounds like 18" will be ok....

Another 18" set here with Vredestein Wintracs.

17" Monzas with Dunlop Winter Sport 4d here
That extra profile gives you a bit more distance between your rim and the potholes, which are full of water at this time of year and you never see them coming..

Same combo here.

17s and Falken euro winters. Have been very impressed so far. Much better off the line than the 18in summers in the cold (as expected). More stable when 'wading' through the puddles/duck ponds around town.

I am pretty sure that I will go for Scirocco turbine alloys - maybe in black.
Has anyone got any pics (preferably on a white Golf) ?
I have tried Google but not getting anywhere....,
Would I be right in thinking the pattern needed is 5x112 and I'm not sure of the required offset...
-
Yeah 5x112
These are my winters 18" in anthracite nankang sv2 snow tyres, really impressed

I have found that the offset is ET51 ideally but it looks like Scirocco wheels are wider.....arse
