Title: Changing my alternator

Hey all, I'm wondering if someone could help me. I need to replace my alternator on my 1.6 MK3 golf. I have been offered an alternator from a mate but it's off a 2.0 mk4 golf gti. Will this still work on my mk3?

I can't find a comparison site link to post at the mo but if you go onto the Eurocarparts site and enter the reg of your car and then find the alternator section then open up another tab and change vehicle to the reg the alt came off and do the same.Then compare part numbers to see if they are the same.If you don't know reg of car it came off find an identical model on ebay and use the reg off that.

IIRC it will fit but the wiring plug is slightly different but can be swapped.
