Hi there, new to the forum so apologies if this has been done to death...
Have a 2012 Polo GTI which has the Monza Shadow wheels. These have a lacquered finish to them.
Looking to invest in both:
Wolf's Chemicals Nano Rim Sealant (Rim Shield) and
Poorboys Wheel Sealant
Any other suggestions? Would just one do the trick. Looking to long term avoid any white work issues due to the corrosion of the laq finish. These wheels are really the highlight of the cars exterior in my opinion
Also it possible for any of these wheel care products to actually break down the laq coating???

Both of these sealants will be fine and will not corrode the lacquer. Wolf's is like a glass coat and the Poorboys more wax like. They'll give good protection and make it much easier to clean off dirt.
If you want a good wheel cleaner consider Valet Pro Bilberry Wheel Cleaner which is ph neutral. Very effective and won't cause any harm. It can ce diluted to suit. I've used Bilberry and Poorboys wheel sealant for years, great stuff.
The dreaded white worm has long been an issue on Monza's, it often starts around the wheel caps so keep an eye out. It 's more likely to get a grip if you damage the lacquer through kerbing, so take care :smiley:

For ulitimate protection use a ceramic topped with as durable a hydrophobe as you can find.
Although to do this justice a refurb first or wheels of and a full decontamination of the wheels is the way to go.
For cleaners, Valet Pro is very good and can be diluted to suit the requirement... which is very usefull and also economical as you only need to use enough to get the job done..
I'm just trying out Sonax Full Effect which is also good, can't be diluted mind, and is perhaps better suited to unsealed heavily contaminated wheels.
