Title: Topping Up Coolant
Post by: andrewparker on 22 December 2014, 14:24
Hi chaps, I've just ordered some G13 coolant on Amazon. Do you add it to the coolant reservoir neat, or does it have to be diluted?

Technically, you should dilute it. I would imagine the instructions should be on the bottle somewhere... If not, this link seems to suggest 50:50... http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=257455.0 (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=257455.0)

If you're only putting a small amount in, it won't really matter too much...

Cool, thanks. It's actually quite low - surprising considering the car has only done 5000 miles.

I bought http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/engine-oils-and-car-fluids/antifreeze-and-screenwash/red-antifreeze/?523770522&0&cc5_866 (http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/engine-oils-and-car-fluids/antifreeze-and-screenwash/red-antifreeze/?523770522&0&cc5_866) to top up mine when it started complaining back in November.

It was ready mixed so I just added it neat.

Wow, that's cheap. The VW stuff I bought was 5 times as much, albeit 1.5L and not diluted.
