Title: Owl sound mk4 tdi

Hey just wanted to know how to make my 1.9 GT TDI make the owl sound :) didn't know if i had to remove/replace the cat or back box to get the sound, would be grate if someone could help thanks :)

break the turbo it will make that sound  :smiley:

Forgive my ignorance (I'm havnt owned a charged car...yet). But are you on about turbo flutter? This basically happens when air goes the wrong way through your turbo.

So block off your blow off, or recirc and enjoy that sound, all the way to the dealer to get your now broken turbo fixed...

Nope, wastegate noise. Just decat and straight through and drive around making daft noises

The bog standard high pressure turbo Iveco Daily's do this loudly as standard. Highly amusing through town when people turn to expect a sports car and it's the biggest panel van you can buy.  :grin:

My car is not a PD engine does this mean it will not back this sound :/

my 110 non pd did it with the old turbo, but doesnt do it too much with the new skoda vrs turbo. dont understand  it myself. some do it some dont! ive got a large downpipe decat too

Does anybody know of a website witch sells a str8 pipe to replace the back box for a 01 mk4 golf 1.9TDI :)
