Hi I am new to this golf thing as I've bought a 51 plate golf 1.8t 150 bhp and I am a bit disappointed to be honest it feels like there's little or next to no boost it's ok in first gear but after that there's next to nothing boost seems slow and I seam to be in the same gear ages waiting for something to happen any ideas guys

Sounds like you may be running in safe mode. The first and easiest thing you should do is get the car read for codes.
A garage will do this for 50 quid or you can buy an ebay special code reader for less than half that.
You will then have a better idea of where to look for faults. You may be overboosting, underfueling, running lean or a sensor may be unplugged (n75).
