Yes, done loads
If you have a look at this thread (http://uk-mkivs.net/topic/51205-how-to-miles-to-empty-and-illuminated-needles-on-a-vdo-cluster-using-vagtacho/#2701148) on UK-MKIVS the second post tells you the values to alter, read the eprom using Vag K+ Commander. Best done on the bench though

Thankyou for your reply, im a bit confused on how to do this, and how to use the vag commander program, do you think you could tell me step by step using the commander tool how to do this? also whats the likely hood of my car locking up during the writing? how easy is it to remove the cluster? will i need the code for when i put it back in? thanks for your help

The likelihood of locking up an RB8 cluster during the writing is quite high when the cluster is in the car speaking from personal experience.
Removing the cluster is easy, there are guides about but it is only two screws and the two wiring connectors but you would need to build a loom to connect the cluster to a power supply and the computer on the bench so if you are only doing it once it won't be worth it.
Using Commander is not too difficult:
Connect cable to car and run software
Choose k line communication protocol
Target 07 Kombi (instruments )
Open channel
From special functions menu click on instruments \ immobiliser
Select the RB8 Golf cluster from drop down and click read eprom
When read, save file
Edit saved file
Load edited file back into commander
Write eprom

Ideal that's great thanks, I will look into making a loom as I would like the mte, and I'll have the loom if I ever need to do it again, thanks for your help :)
