Title: Help with Bluetooth/MDI with Galaxy note 4
Post by: Smartiesforall on 29 November 2014, 20:58
Hi,

I own a 2013 golf mk7 se line with standard entertainment console.

I have recently upgraded from an iPhone 5s to a galaxy note 4 but I am really struggling with the new phone.

I listen to music through spotify and on my iPhone i was able to easily skip tracks using the centre console or steering wheel but with the new phone I have lost that functionality.

Having done some research it seems it has to do with the car rather than the phone. Now my question is, if I purchase a MDI cable for my galaxy, will it give me the functionality I need that the Bluetooth isnt?

Does anyone has any experience of this?

Please help. If not anyone interested in a note 4?

I tried to get one from Volkswagen at the time I ordered my car, but they supplied the standard iPhone one.

I couldn't find one, so if you do, let us know how you get on.

I was surprised at the bluetooth functionality being a tad sparse as well.  Doesn't even detect text messages or anything.  If I try playing normal mp3s from my phone (not Spotify) then it works (on bluetooth I mean). But the cover art/playlists etc. didn't.  It would just skip to the next track, that was it.

VW must have shares in apple or something!!!
