Could anyone tell me what is the maximum size SD card the standard Composition Media System can handle?
Thanks
P.S. I did a search but couldn't find a definitive answer

I have read somewhere it is 2TB I think. Let me search for where I have read that and get back to you...
EDIT: This person states 2TB max. http://www.haydnwilliams.com/blog/vw-golf-mk7-sd-cards-and-album-art
This thread states 32GB if it is SDHC and 2TB if it is SDXC - http://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227

Thanks Mohsin - that's very helpful
In my handbook it says nothing of the maximum capacity size the unit can handle. Crap or what!

The online version of the Composition Media/Discover Media manual (I presume the printed manual is the same), has the following specs for the SD card compatibility.
SD and MMC memory cards with the file systems FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 or VFAT up to max. 2 GB (gigabytes), SDHC memory cards up to max. 32 GB and SDXC memory cards up to max. 2 TB (terabytes) with the exFAT and NTFS file systems.
I'm using a 64GB SDXC card with no issues.

No problem!
Any ideas of where to get a decent sd card? Or is eBay the best place? I only have a crappy 4GB one and I'm forever deleting/adding music to it.
eBay seem to be reasonably priced i.e. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DIGI-CHIP-64GB-SDXC-CLASS-10-MEMORY-CARD-FOR-DIGITAL-CAMERA-CAMCORDER-UHS-1-SDHC-/121388720287?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_PDAsAccessories_MemoryCards&hash=item1c4354e09f
Not sure on the brand though?

Never buy memory cards from eBay as you just don't know if it's a ripped off version or not. Plenty of other good places to buy from - 7 day shop, gizzmoheaven are two I've used before.

Thanks mcmaddy and logeyboy. So should be worth spending a bit more then and getting a quality one which should last.
I shall have a look at both of your suggestions.

I'd be tempted to go for a higher class than 4 if you can budget it.
-
Yes, I will definitely be going for a Class 10. I have just had a quick check on the 7 day shop and you can get a 64gb class 10 for £17 quid!!

MyMemory are good. I've bought from them before.

^ I'd second that. Good stuff at good prices with mymemory. There's usually a discount code on the go (look on hotukdeals for it). If you go on ebay you may well get a low end card masquerading as a class 10 Sandisk.
-
Always worth looking for a discount code! :nerd:
Would you guys say the low end brand versions on these mentioned sites are worth going for instead of the branded ones then (i.e. Sandisk)? Or is it a case of always go for the top branded items?
What even warrants the price difference apart from the name? E.g. this one:
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/SDXC/MyMemory/MyMemory-64GB-Premium-Series-SD-Card-%28SDXC%29-Class-10-UHS-1-U3---95MB_s
compared with this one:
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/SDXC/SanDisk/SanDisk-64GB-Extreme-SD-Card-%28SDXC%29-80MB_s---Class-10-UHS-1
The cheaper one even has a slightly faster read speed...
