Hi Guys,
I have the genuine VW Rubber mats in my GT and whilst they work OK, due to the new design of the floor under the pedals on the MQB platform, as you know the piece of the mat that extends under the pedals is a small tongue on the left hand side (near the foot rest). From under the brake pedal to the right is uncovered and there's just a "hump" of the cars base carpet.
Well on mine, that exposed carpet bit is getting dirty and starting to be a little worn. Does any know know of any good rubber mats whose front piece extends under all 3 pedals.
Please see below for a better explanation:

I know exactly what your on about and can vouch that I have the exact same problem with my GTI. One of the edges is now worn and the car only has 2k miles. It's a very minor MQB design flaw on RHD models but I wanted to prevent it getting any worse.
It really comes down to how much it annoys you and what you are willing to spend. Although expensive I ended up buying these from America the other day:

After trying different mats and getting fed up I decided to take the plunge, buy these mats and get the problem sorted. They are the only mats I could find that look decent and actually protect the exposed area around the pedals.
Will report back once fitted to let you know how good they are on RHD model Golfs. Seem very good from other reviews though.

Mine doesn't seem that bad, although it may be something that affects DSG cars more than manual one's due to us not resting our foot in the gap where the clutch pedal would normally be.
Might be worth getting in touch with one of the custom mat manufacturers to see about getting some mats made. When I buy my first set of replacement mats, I'll see if I can make a 'tongue' to fit that part of the floor without it getting in the way of the pedals (safety first and all that).

I think you hit the nail on the head there with the DSG observation. In my manual GTD, my foot has never gone near the carpet under the pedals, there isn't the room to do so. I rest my left foot on the ledge to the left of the clutch pedal.

Those weather tech things look like a kids plastic sledge

And I thought the genuine ones were pricey. They do look well made though.
