Title: Mk2 Light Project
Post by: NotaGTI on 13 September 2005, 19:48
I heard a while ago that Seat Ibiza's have virtually the same frame as the golf...

does that mean I can chuck the lights and grill off an Ibiza on to my Mk2 quite easilly???

(I want small squares not large lame jetta rectangles)

I doubt it would be an easy straight swap otherwise there would be others like it out there and I don't remember ever seeing a ibiza lights on a mk2 :)

I know what you mean mate. i used to own a seat ibiza sxi and it looked like a mk1/mk2/jetta with ronal wheels and thats why i fell for the shape of the mk2.

The lights could fit with abit of welding but the grill would need to be made longer i recon. You might aswel stick a jetta front on to save the hassle

They don't have the same frame, they have the same FLOORPAN, and as we all know it is now coming practice for the VAG group to share floorpans amongst their cars.

Its the same as the MK4 golf and Audi TT having the same floorpan, the shape of the actual car is completely different.

The only VW I know that looks externally like any ibiza is the MK3 polo saloon/caddy van.
