I've had my golf for nearly 2 years and haven't had to do much with it. I had corroding inner alloys so had to get all my alloys re-done so they look new and good. Recently my exhaust split from the back box due to corrosion so today I had a twin scorpion from Demon Tweaks, my friend also helped talk me in to getting a dump vale and air filter (helped pay for it). It sounds much sportier with these new things on it! It makes the psssh sound and feels somewhat quicker on the accelerator.
The next things I plan in the future are perhaps some new breaks (mine are squeaking a bit) – how much are they for the GTi? And who knows, maybe even a remap?

Essential mods:
1/ Remap
2/ Brighter light bulbs
3/ Decent tyres
That's it.

I've also got decent tires atm I had them done. Considering a Remap. Tweaks said I’d get 300+ BHP from stage 1?? And didn't think MPG would be effected? Sounds good if true!
How much are new brake pads on the GTi? Is squeaking or squealing a sign they need replacing?
What do you think about tinted rear lights, I thought that would look good?
Thanks

I would add a decent set of R32 front brakes to that list as well, to help stop the thing with the extra power. My girlfriend drives a GTI with a stage 1 tune (like my own) but runs stock brakes and we both notice the difference when stopping. Bonus with R32 front brakes is they're OEM so bolt on, parts are cheaper but they're better than GTI brakes.
