Title: HID's. What do I need?
Post by: Lgjennings on 13 November 2014, 23:31
Got a Golf MK5 GTTDI.
I want to get a hid kit but don't really understand it all.
What kit do I need? For example error free canbus or what?
Help needed thanks.

I would not bother, uprated bulbs would be a better bet.

Only fit them if the car has projector headlights, check out hids4u.co.uk they have many kits, perhaps ask them if you need kits that cater for 'bulb out' warnings etc

If you can't see well with the stock bulbs then try a pair of the stronger ones from Halfords.  If you still have problems then perhaps an eye test would be wise.  Badly fitted HID bulbs just provoke full beam attacks from other motorists, I'd avoid them if you are not seeing too well.
