Do you know roughly when it happened? CCTV footage at supermarket car park etc? Any cracks or just the scuffs (which are bad enough)?

I was quite lucky, the car was parked outside my house and the woman who did it stopped.

I've got a quote for the repair (£378) which the woman has agreed to pay. Just disappointed it has been hit.

Make that is so annoying. I have been there. Credit to the women for stopping as the person who scratched my car carried on without ownin up.

Yeah, I felt compelled to thank her for stopping, which is ridiculous really.

I had just walked my son to school and turned the corner to see someone looking at the front of my car. My heart sank. Unfortunately being just 200m from the local infant and junior school the road where I live turns into a rat run with too many X5s, XC90s, and various oversized people carriers hurtling down it every morning.

Pleased that she is willing to sort it out without resorting to insurance too.

Rotten luck mate. The fact she owned up goes some way to restoring my faith in other drivers. I had every panel on 1 side of my xr2i  damaged when I was playing squash many years ago. With no sign of anyone admitting to it I was lucky it was all caught on camera and quite surprised to find out it was a 60 year old lady.

The video showed her scraping down the side of my car then getting out to survey the damage before scarpering. It all ended well for me though as my car was written off and the proceeds were used to buy a vento vr6. Probably the best car I have ever owned.

Hope the repairs are to your satisfaction. I am sure  they will be

Sorry to hear that its been damaged , I suppose the only good thing is that its a plastic bumper and wont rust in the future.
