Hi there
Ive seen that 19" X 9" ET52 wheels fit the MK7 GTI without the tyres sticking out of the arches.
Now
How would 19" X 8.5" ET48 rims sit...?? Would these sit further in or out of the arch..??
Thanks for any feedback
Ken

They will fit slightly further in.
You'd need a 235 35 tyre.
Possibly the best compromise wheel fitment I reckon.
I've got 8x19 ET48 and they could use 5 or 8mm spacers on the back and 3 or 5mm front.
-
Pretty sure they will stick out further than standard with either of those choices.
-
Yes, they'd both stick out further than standard but the top set would stick out more than the bottom set.

Here's a good one to play with: http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator

Trust what exonian is telling you (not that others aren't to be trusted), he has a 'little' bit of experience with wheels.

That's great Exonian.....thanks for your feedback

No worries.
I'm guessing from the size of set no.2 it's possibly BBS CH-R's? That seems to be their recommended fitment for mk7's.
BBS usually get their offsets pretty spot on for their aftermarket stuff in Golf fitment.

Would these fit ok on a mk7 golf r,
BBS VZ 18x8 , 5x 112 et44
Goodyear ultra grip 8 - 225/40R 18, 92v XL
I don't understand offsets and alloy talk!

Yes, they will fit just fine and will use your original bolts too which is unusual for BBS wheels.
They will look a bit small though but ideal for winter use

Thanks, could you explain why they will look small? I have 18 Cadiz at the moment..

It's to do with the style of the wheel.
They were a BBS special for the mk5 Golf and I had a set on my mk5 Golf. The ET44 offset looked perfect on the mk5 too. I put them on my mk6 when I first got it and they looked small on that so on the even bulkier mk7 they'd look lost in the arches. Trust me!
I'll try and dig some photos out but can't find them at the moment.

Thanks that would be great! I am looking at using th m as a winter wheel but although it's a winter wheel I don't want it to look really bad!
-
They'd make ideal winters.
Top quality and perfect fit wheels.

You don't think they would look too vac fir a couple of months then?
-
No, they'll be fine as winters

Here's a pic of the VZ 033's on my mk6

They looked a lot better on my mk5 but I can't find any shots!
And the difference a set of 19s made to the same car:

Another fitment question please.
I have Mk7.5 GTI Performance and looking at Sparco Corsa Pro wheels.
Intending to stick with 225/40x18 standard tyre fitment (insurance, leasing company blah blah). The nearest fitment with the Sparco is 18x8" 5x112 and ET48. Are these going to be good with no fouling issues?
Thanks

Good lord, there’s a resurrection.
Yes, those wheels will fit perfectly. No fouling.
